It is more important than ever to select suppliers who are able to demonstrate they source, manufacture and deliver products and services sustainably. With over 70% of greenhouse gas emissions being ‘scope 3’, including those that occur in products and services from suppliers, funeral directors are increasingly looking at their supply chain as they endeavor to meet the needs of their environmentally aware clients.

The Greener Globe Funeral Awards launched its Trusted Supplier Standard at the Funeral Suppliers’ Association meeting on the 10th November. The new award has a similar format to the existing funeral directors scheme, however the sustainability audit has been completely rewritten for suppliers and manufacturers.
